About me
I’m Yanilis
I’m Yanilis Romero, an English teacher from Montería, Colombia. For more than a decade, I’ve been taking learning beyond the classroom: research projects with my students, a sister-school partnership in the United States, academic and cultural immersions in South Korea, Mexico and Peru, and STEMGLISH+H, my project for learning English, science and technology by solving real problems in our community.
I also speak at conferences and share strategies with other teachers. I believe education transforms realities and ways of thinking, and that it works best when it’s more human.
